Piano: Beginning
Playing with others (ensemble) help children to:

Music language introduction: beginning early helps children:
- Learn music naturally as a second language
- Learn the same way learned first language: ear before eye

Listening to wonderful music helps children:
- Develop emotional sensitivity to music

- Feel and express music in time rhythmically
Singing: Children love to sing! Singing develops:
- Self expression
- Correct tempo, rhythm, and pitch
- Understanding of solfege and note names
Rhythmic training helps children to:
- Develop a sense of internal rhythm
- Learn to properly play percussion instruments
- Develop a feel for time signatures
- Read complex rhythms
Harmonic training helps children to:
- Understand relationship between melody and harmony
- Add chords to a melody
- Be able to arrange music
